Rose of Jericho Original Drawing
This is a 9 x 12 original drawing on 140 lb. Hot press watercolor paper.
It was drawn freehand using Fine Line archival micron pens.
The Rose of Jericho is a plant with unique properties, appropriately nicknamed “the ressurection plant”
Rose of Jericho is a desert shrub that curls up into a ball.
It will then tumble long distances in the wind for many years, searching for water.
Once it finds water, it blooms again.
In this drawing, The Rose of Jericho is seen as a hopeful metaphor for moments of personal drought.
The journey of the Rose of Jericho mirrors the human journey.
We are led and held by our ancestors & they communicate to us through plants.
