This is a painting on a 12 x 12 mat board. It was painted with tattoo ink allowing the vibrant colors to truly glow. The focus of this painting began as the two blue dragonflys surrounding the eyes of the face, they are friends I have made this spring. This painting was completley unplanned and spontaneously appeared as I thought of a calm and serene place where I last encountered water lilies... a most beautiful habitat deep in the forest where dragonflys made their home. This painting reminds me that even in a stagnant pool, even in the murkiest waters of your life, there is always the opportunity for growth. The most beautiful things are often found in the strangest of places, and working on this painting gave me great hope for what is still yet to come.
